Edison succeeded roughly 60 years later!<\/p>\n<p>Innocenzo Manzetti &#8211; Original inventor of the telephone (Italian).<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Elisha_Gray\">Elisha Gray<\/a> &#8211; second inventor of the telephone (American).
